Domestic Energy Assessor - Energy Performance Certificate

The purpose of an Energy Performance Certificate is to tell you on a scale of A-G, how energy efficient your home is.

The ultimate target is for homes to have an energy rating of 'A' - the most efficient and in return the reward - lower fuel bills.

In addition, the Certificate will also tell you, again on a scale of A-G, information about the impact your home has on the environment.

In the U.K. the average property falls into bands D-E for both ratings. There will also be recommendations on ways to improve your homes energy efficiency to save you money and help the environment.

Most sellers of newly built homes will have to provide a predicted assessment of the energy efficiency of the property, but a full Energy Performance Certificate should be provided to the buyer when the home is completed.

Our homes in the UK account for 27% of the UK's carbon emissions, contributing to global climate change. It is estimated that by following the recommendations in an EPC, and average of £300 a year can be saved in fuel bills.

An EPC can only be prepared by a Domestic Energy Assessor or Home inspector who are members of Government approved Accreditation and Certificate Schemes.

Our schedule of competitive prices for carrying out Energy Performance Certificates are on our Prices page.

Whilst it is a legal requirement to have an EPC in your home information pack when you are selling your home, there is nothing to stop you from having an inspection at any time to improve your homes energy efficiency.
